The incident resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the multi-storey parking facility.

Formal charges have been brought against two men in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.

These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.

A young child was one of the people hurt in the event. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.

This event – described by police as was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
